In the first quarter of the current year, via QW, it became possible to transfer money with the help of VISA Payments and money Transfers (VISA Personal Payments) available in 3 more countries, namely Azerbaijan, Kirghizia and Moldova. Applications for IPhone, Android, Windows Phone 7, Java, Blackberry have also became available for customers in 17 countries. Today customers can register their QW in another 14 countries, including Armenia, the UK, Georgia, Israel, Kirghizia, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldavia, Panama, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Japan. Furthermore, multicurrency accounts (tenge-rubles) were introduced on the international website of the system (w.) and later the same in Ukraine. Since Q1 2012 the registration of Wallets has been available in Kazakhstan. QW has continued its geographical expansion. Web and mobile applications: new horizons Yamal Payment Company offered its customers another alternative of instant cash top-up for their QW without commission: from over 1000 terminals stretching from Kaliningrad to Novy Urengoy. In this same way, customers can make a deposit to the QW itself. The service can be used in case of urgent payment of goods and services for small transactions even if there are insufficient funds on a QW, it is always possible to make a transaction from a mobile account. Now, instant purchases from mobile personal accounts are available for Megafon subscribers too. In Q1 2012, the number of online stores connected to QIWI Wallet reached 6,000 (up by 88% year-over-year). The most popular categories of payments for goods and services in the financial year were loan repayments, buying in online stores, mobile top-ups and money transfers. The number of regular users of the service has also increased by 39% on a year-over-year basis and now reaches 8.7 million people.ĭuring the period under review, QW offered new capabilities to its customers.
